TWG1 - Air

Public health concerns related to air focus on the impacts of outdoor and indoor air pollution, including exposure to particulate matter, toxic gases, industrial and vehicular emissions, and pollutants from open burning that can cause respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

Poor indoor air quality from inadequate ventilation, tobacco smoke, mold, and chemical fumes also threatens health, while climate change worsens pollution levels and increases haze events. Occupational exposure to dust, chemicals, and hazardous gases further adds to the overall risk, making air quality a critical area of concern for public health.
