5th National Environmental Health Action Plan (NEHAP) Conference 2019 was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Ministry of Health Malaysia. YB Datuk Seri has delivered a keynote entitled Environmental Health: Coping Up With Climate Change Challenges.

The conference was held with the aim of strengthening collaboration and giving exposure to participants on the importance of NEHAP Malaysia. Apart from that, this Conference is act as a platform for the presentation of papers covering the field of environmental health as well as for all participants to interact and exchange opinions on the country’s environmental health problems.

The conference was attended by more than 150 participants from various Ministries and agencies at the federal and state levels, lecturers and university students as well as the private sector that are directly involved in environmental health related activities.

A total of five (5) presentation papers were presented by the invited speakers. The speakers and titles of the presentation papers involved are:

  3. Paper 3 Presentation: Protecting Human Health from Climate Change by YBhg. Prof. Datuk Dr. Lokman Hakim Bin Sulaiman, Pro Vice Chancellor (Research) and Director Institute Research Development & Innovation, International Medical University (IMU)
  4. Paper 4 Presentation: Climate Change, Extreme Events and Environmental Health Disasters by Dr. Khamarrul Azahari Bin Razak, Razak Faculty Of Technology and Informatics, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (UTMKL)
  5. Paper 5 Presentation: Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security Issues: Malaysian Perspective by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Zabawi Bin Abdul Ghani, Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI)
