3rd National Environmental Health Action Plan (NEHAP) Conference 2017 was officiated by YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, Director General of the Ministry of Health Malaysia with the theme:

“Emerging Environmental Health Risks: Challenges for Tomorrow”

The conference was held with the aim of strengthening collaboration and giving exposure to participants on the importance of NEHAP Malaysia. Apart from that, this Conference is act as a platform for the presentation of papers covering the field of environmental health as well as for all participants to interact and exchange opinions on the country’s environmental health problems.

The conference was attended by more than 150 participants from various Ministries and agencies at the federal and state levels, lecturers and university students as well as the private sector that are directly involved in environmental health related activities.

A total of seven (7) presentation papers were presented by the invited speakers. The speakers and titles of the presentation papers involved are:

1. Paper 1 Presentation: Environmental Health Risks by YM Engku Azman Tuan Mat, Bahagian Perkhidmatan Kejuruteraan.
2. Paper 2 Presentation: Environmental Mainstreaming Directive: A Preventive Approach by Dato’ Dr Ahmad Kamarulnajuib Che Ibrahim, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar.
3. Paper 3 Presentation: Appreciating Environmnetal Health Risks In Our Business by Engku AsmanTuan Mat, CHAIRMAN ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC HEALTH ENGINEERING MALAYSIA MyPHE.
4. Paper 4 Presentation: Current Underrated Perspective On Endocrine Disrupting Compounds In Drinking Water by Ahmad Zaharin Aris, UPM.
5. Paper 5 Presentation: Impact of Ambient Air Pollution on the Incidence of Pulmonary TB in Malaysia by Mohd Hatta Abdul Mutalip, Environmental Health Officer Institute for Public Health, MOH.
6. Paper 6 Presentation: Mercury, Methylmercury & Selenium in Maricultured Fish by Nor Nasyitah Sobihah Binti Mohd Nasri, UPM.
7. Paper 7 Presentation: Organophosphorus Pesticides Contamination In Surface Water Of The Langat River, Selangor, Malaysia by Sze Yee Wee, UPM.
