Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
Good day everyone!
It’s this time of year again where NEHAP is hosting its Conference. It will be held at the Zenith Hotel Putrajaya on Thursday, 24th September 2020. This year’s theme “Water and Health : Collaborative Efforts On Health and the Environment”.
Water is abundant in Malaysia, thanks to our mother nature that blessed us with rain almost every other day, but getting good quality water is a challenge. In Malaysia, we use surface water as a source for drinking water and many other activities every day. As such, preserving our water resources is a challenge due to the rapid development in our cities and the suburban areas surrounding it. Industries have a great impact to the water bodies whether directly or indirectly; they use water for their processes and discharge effluent. Uncontrolled discharged of pollutant into the river or illegal dumping of pollutant into water bodies will bring about harm to humans and animals alike.
Thus, each and everyone of us has a duty to preserve water. Please don’t take it for granted.
Last but not least, amidst the pandemic COVID-19, the 6th NEHAP Conference will adhere strictly to the SOP advocated by WHO, whereby participants are limited to a certain capacity at the venue ensuring physical distancing is achieved. Wearing of mask and body temperature scanning is a must, hand sanitiser is made available to participants and only pre-registered participant is allowed in.
