Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
Good Day everyone
We’re nearing the end of the year 2017. I hope we have almost achieved what we set out to do. It seems like only yesterday that we hear the New Year’s Song. How time flies.
At NEHAP Malaysia, we’ve certainly adhered to most of our targets as planned early in the year. We’ve completed most of our scheduled meetings where we made important decisions. We’ve held our annual Conference in September with the theme “Emerging Environmental Health Risks : Challenges for Tomorrow” and was officiated by the Director General of Health Malaysia.
Malaysia being near the equator, has hot and humid weather. We’re blessed with lots of rainfall and sunny days throughout the year. But we are not spared the effects of weather variations in the recent months. Case in point was the major landslide that occurred on Penang island after a heavy downpour and the flash floods that occurred in Penang mainland, Kedah and Perak that led to loss of properties, damaged to infrastructure and the environment.
We do hope that the relevant authorities will consider seriously that future developments are environmentally sustainable so as to avoid any untoward incidents.
We at NEHAP Malaysia always believe that ‘health and environment is at the center of development’.
